The cruise was actually fine once we got on, but getting to the right spot was more confusing than it needed to be. Some of the signs were tiny or just not where you’d expect them, especially near the boarding area, and that part was weird. The staff were helpful when we asked, but it would’ve been way less stressful if the online directions and dock signage were clearer. Not a bad experience overall, just could be easier to navigate.

I took the ferry last weekend, and the ride itself was fine. The views were great, which is probably the best part of the whole experience. But once we were onboard, the amenities felt bare-bones, and there weren’t enough indoor seats, so a bunch of people were just standing around with their bags.

The bathrooms were not in good shape and already smelled bad by the time we got on. The snack area had a long line, not many options, and the prices felt a bit much for what they were offering. What was frustrating was that when people asked about seating or the restroom situation, it felt like staff just kind of shrugged it off and nobody really took ownership of anything.

I get that it’s a ferry and not a luxury cruise, but I still expected a little more comfort for the ticket price. The scenery made the trip worth it in a way, but the onboard experience was definitely disappointing. It just felt like if something wasn’t working well, there wasn’t anyone actually responsible for fixing it.

Our guide was really good and made the tour a lot easier than I expected. He kept things moving without making us feel rushed, and the way he explained the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island was simple and actually interesting. The only annoying part was the waiting, because there was a lot of waiting, then more waiting, and then another line to wait in.

He answered everyone’s questions and kept pointing us in the right direction, which helped a ton. I would’ve been more frustrated with all the crowds and slow parts if he hadn’t been so organized. The crowds were a lot, the lines were a lot, and the stopping and starting got old, but overall he made the trip feel easy and fun
